I am a licensed educator with over 8 years experience working with students who have special needs, and an active member of the International Dyslexia Association. I have taught and tutored students at Groves Academy in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. After leaving Groves Academy I worked as an Orton-Gillingham academic therapist for the Integrative Medicine Clinic at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. I am currently working as a private academic therapy tutor and as a contracted academic therapy tutor with the Alexander Center in Eden Prairie, MN. I received my teaching degree from Bemidji State and have completed advanced Orton-Gillingham reading training through Hamline University and the Upper Midwest Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. The Orton-Gillingham reading method is langauge based, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, and flexible reading method. This method has been proven highly effective for the last 50 years teaching students with dyslexia and other reading delays to read. This approach can be used with a variety of materials and is adaptable to meet the individual needs of students. Company history
